The LiftPort Group Wants Your Input

Is the Space Elevator an idea whose time is come? Or is it doomed to remain in the realm of science fiction?

The LiftPort Group is a young, ambitious and innovative team committed to developing an operational Space Elevator by 2018.

LiftPort has designed various robotic crawlers. Last September a LiftPort robot ascended a test ribbon suspended from a balloon 305 meters (1,000 feet) overhead.

LiftPort has extended an idealistic public invitation, "... to every human being to participate in the development of the Space Elevator in some manner." The invitation provides, "While the project will be led by our US company, LiftPort Group feels humanity as a whole has a right to be involved in such a project. In order to provide as much benefit as possible from the Space Elevator, LiftPort Group would like to see many individual, academic, governmental, non-governmental, and corporate entities get involved."

In short, the LiftPort Group wants to hear from you. You can join their discussion forum here.
