Keeping Up With DrShawn on Twitter

Social networking web sites have a well earned reputation for their ultra high noise levels. Yet these sites have great potential for serious users who are documenting projects, research and field trips.

The Society for Amateur Scientists hosts a Community Forum for discussing various science topics. Questions and ideas posted on the Forum have generated considerable discussion.

For very fast status reports about ongoing projects, nothing beats Twitter, as SAS founder and Executive Director Shawn Carlson has learned.
