Harlan Brothers Update
Last August inventor, musician, and mathematician Harlan Brothers was invited to present a day long lecture/workshop on fractal music at the MathScience Innovation Center (www.msinnovation.info) in Richmond, Virginia. Harlan reports that the presentation was well received.
Harlan's mathematical papers and presentations have led to the development of his Fractal Music Workshops, a presentation designed for math and music departments at high schools and colleges. Background information about Harlan and his workshop, including third party reviews, can be found at http://www.brotherstechnology.com/fractal-music/fractal-music-workshops.html. TCS readers can help spread the word about Harlan's workshop by sending the workshop URL to potential schools and colleges.
Harlan is the author of "Rubbing Shoulders with Newton: An Improbable Story" (The Citizen Scientist, 02 March 2007), which is must reading if you have even a passing interest in math.
