Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers Update

In July the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) held its annual conference at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory at Green Bank, West Virginia. The program and proceedings for the meeting are available on the meetings page of the SARA web site.

Especially interesting was a keynote presentation by Dr. Andrew Clegg (W4JE) on "Present and Future Radio Spectrum Trends: Their impact on radio astronomy." Clegg's presentation discussed the increasing problem of radio interference.

Radio astronomy is a fascinating pursuit that can be started with a relatively small investment. Commercial receiving gear and antennas are available, or you can build your own.

Radio Astronomy is SARA's official publication. Radio Astronomy is loaded with information for both new and experienced radio astronomers. You can find the publication here.
