Amber To Be
Allen E. Rhodes
I was on the ranch in La Salle County where I hunt,
about 100 km south of San Antonio and was collecting
dead limbs for firewood. It was relatively early, around
9:00 AM. I stooped under a low limb on a mesquite tree
(Prosopis glandulosa) to pick up some deadwood
and the morning sun on the exuded sap caught my eye.
I went to the truck and for my Olympus C-740 camera
and got this shot (Fig. 1). Just in time too, as when
I attempted to take another shot, the camera batteries
failed completely.
