"Amateur scientist" passes 10,000 hits on google

Those who doubt the popularity of amateur science might want to try a few searches on www.google.com and other popular Internet search engines.

A recent search for "amateur scientist" on google yielded 10,900 hits. Many of these hits are for the Society for Amateur Science.

"Amateur science" yielded 10,400 hits.

"Citizen scientist" produced 7,060 hits.

"Citizen science" gave 12,000 hits.

The Society for Amateur Scientists (SAS) home page (www.sas.org) provides a google search engine window at the top of the page. You can use this search feature to search only www.sas.org or the entire web.
