14 May 2004 Amateur ornithologist Chris Hollister Although many thousands of citizen scientists observe the weather, count birds and scan the stars, very few are recognized in the media. That's why we're glad to report that amateur ornithologist Chris Hollister was recently recognized in an article by Patricia Donovan in the 6 May 2004 issue of University at Buffalo Reporter at www.buffalo.edu/reporter/vol35/vol35n33/articles/Birdman.html. According to Donovan's article, Hollister is among hundreds of bird watchers who have helped the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation update the agency's planned "New York State Breeding Bird Atlas 2000-04." If you're a birder or just interested in birding, Donovan's
article is must reading. The Citizen Scientist congratulates
Chris Hollister on this recognition of his many hours of volunteer work.
And we commend Patricia Donovan for her fine article about Hollister.
