Spring is thunderstorm season across the United States. Jim Hannon had his camera ready when he spotted this isolated cumulonimbus thunderstorm cell in Iowa. Hannon writes, "It was a single storm cloud in an otherwise clear sky that passed by to the south. Several people took pictures of it because it was so interesting. It even made the local news."

Jim Hannon is an amateur radio operator whose call sign is WB0TXL. His science interests include astronomy, seismology and monitoring of the cosmic ray background count. Hannon's home page is at www.fmtcs.com/web/jmhannon.
