A course in Java programming aimed at those who have no background in computer prog- ramming. This will not be a course in every aspect of Java programming, just the basics. The idea is to learn what programming is about in general, and learn about Java particularly.

Recently, when asked what areas of science I am interested in, I replied, "all of them." My first exposure to experimentation was when I was very young and my parents gave me a do-it-yourself electronics kit. (This was long enough ago that the kit had a tube.) My interest in science expanded through my school years where, among other things, I met my first computer and blew up some glassware. I am also a trained severe weather spotter and a severe weather spotter trainer. Interests: Major fields of interest include, but are not limited to, kiting, computers, motorcycling, science demon- strations, astronomy, electronics, space science, and severe weather. ROCKY WENZ
