Current consumer technology has made it possible for just about anyone to take excellent images of the world around us. We like to see what our members are photographing. This section is where we display some of the more compelling or insightful images of interest to amateur scientists.

SAS members and friends are encouraged to submit for our consideration interesting photo- graphs of interest to amateur scientists. Send original digital images, with brief caption information, to editor@sas.org. When a photograph shows a living organism or fossil, please provide the scientific name to at least the genus level if possible. We are unable to use photographs that depict unsafe practices or are otherwise inappropriate for a general web site.
