13 February 2004 A Tale of Two Conferences LABRats Virtual Conference Have you ever taught or been taught science outside a formal classroom? Would you like to help design a revolutionary new science program for teenagers? The Society for Amateur Scientists is hosting a "virtual conference" on informal science education, with particular emphasis on mentoring and student research. We want to hear about your experiences to inform the design of the LABRats program, as well as the field of informal science education in general. Everyone with an insightful story to tell is invited to submit a paper. Let us know what makes a for a good (or bad) informal science experience and how those experiences impact the people who have them. All accepted papers will be published on-line for the world to learn from. And don't forget, any peer-reviewed publication, even an on-line publication, looks great on a vitae.
2004 Citizen Science Conference We are still accepting papers and presentations to fill the program of the Citizen Science Conference this coming July in Washington, DC. Those of you who have basked in the glow of previous conferences know this is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and hear about the latest and greatest in citizen science. Don't let this opportunity
go by. If you have an idea for a paper, write
to us. We also invite you to take a look at the paper
submission guidelines. We'd love to hear from you. |
