Observatory/Planetarium Seeks Assistance

Hello,

We're in the process of renovating the Lake County, California Office of Education's observatory/planetarium. We are planning to barrage the community with events and the schools with educational opportunities. Do you have any information with regard to education related grant opportunities and/or institutions interested in including this site for research? Lake County has some of the darkest skies and is considered to have the cleanest air. You can access some information about our project on www.stars-r-us.com Thanks!

Photographing Mars

Hi!

The focal length/image diameter relation that appears in the article (See "How to Photograph Mars" in the 29 August 2003 E-Bulletin) is for the Moon/Sun (aprox.) Mars is far smaller, you need in the order of tens of meters to have a 1-2 mm image.

Cheers,
