We have received the following
information about special "certification" programs through
which the Denver Museum of Nature and Science trains Citizen Scientists
to work alongside professionals:
Paleontology Certification
Program
Interested in becoming certified to work in our paleontology lab or
collect with a group of fellow enthusiasts on a Museum dig? Or how
about simply learning more about paleontology? Courses taught by Museum
curators and associates are available to adults, ages 17 and older.
For more information on our Paleontology Certification Program, call
303-370-6489 or e-mail Liz Davis at ldavis@dmnh.org
Naturalist Certification
Program
The departments of Zoology and Adult Programs are pleased to offer
a Naturalist Certification Program to adults, age 17 or older, who
wish to learn more about natural history, ecology, and evolutionary
biology. A basic certification may be something you¹d like to pursue
for personal enrichment‹to expand your knowledge of the natural world.
A specialized certificate may qualify you to join the department of
zoology staff in the field, with museum research or to help lead interpretive
tours. Current zoological research appeals to diverse interests, ranging
from the first state-wide survey of Colorado¹s spiders to the conservation
of bighorn sheep. For more information, email ldavis@dmns.org
or call (303) 370-8286.
